Washington DC [US], January 23 (ANI): Actor Timothee Chalamet pulled off a genius creative move when he recruited his four look-alikes to help pull off his host and musical guest stint on ‘Saturday Night Live’, reported Deadline.
In the latest promo of SNL, Timothee is seen standing with his four look-alikes which he calls a ‘help’ in managing his hosting duties for the show as he wants to focus on his performance in SNL.
“I’ve never done this before. You know, I’m having to be SNL host and musical guest in the same week, so it’s a lot of work and I want to focus on the songs,” said Timothee at the start of the promo.
As a musical guest at SNL, the actor is likely to perform a Bob Dylan as he played the role of the singer in his latest film ‘The Complete Unknown’, reported Deadline.
In the clip, Chalamet says he especially needs help with activities like meeting with the writers and working on his monologue. At the end, the ‘Dune’ actor received a notification which reminded him of visiting the ‘Jimmy Fallon Show’.
The camera then pans at one of his look-alike who then arrives at ‘The Jimmy Fallon Show’ as his replacement. The promo had a fun element and has also increased the hype of Timothee’s arrival at SNl in the upcoming week.
Actor Timothee Chalamet serving as both the host and musical guest on the upcoming episode of Saturday Night Live (SNL) marks a rare achievement in the long history of the iconic NBC show, as Chalamet becomes only the fifth non-musician to take on both roles in the show’s 50-year history. It will air on January 25.
With this, Timothee will join an esteemed list of SNL hosts who have also served as musical guests, a group that includes legendary figures such as Paul Simon, Ray Charles, Elton John, and Britney Spears.
However, what sets Chalamet apart is that, unlike his predecessors, he is not primarily known for his singing or musical talents. The last time a non-singer held both positions was in 1995 when NFL star Deion Sanders took on the dual roles.
On the work front, Chalamet is currently gaining attention for his role in A Complete Unknown, a Bob Dylan biopic in which he performs several of Dylan’s songs.
He has also been nominated in the category of Best Actor at the Oscars for his performance in ‘The Complete Unknown.’ (ANI)
